Representative Craig Frank joined the Utah State House of Representatives in May of 2003.  Former Governor Michael O. Leavitt appointed Rep. Frank to the State Legislature.  Rep. Frank was then re-elected to represent Utah State House District 57 during the November 2004, 2006 , 2008, and 2010 General Elections.

Rep. Frank served as the Chairman of the Utah County Legislative Caucus during 2006.  He recently resigned as Vice-Chair of the Utah House Conservative Caucus (which he founded with Rep. Greg Hughes in 2004).  Speaker Greg Curtis appointed Rep. Frank to represent Utah in the CSG-West Fiscal Affairs Committee for the 2005-2006, 2007-2008 terms.  Speaker David Clark assigned Rep. Frank to the NCSL committee on Re-Districting and Elections for the 2009-2010 term.

Rep. Frank has served on the House Transportation Standing Committee, the House Business and Labor Standing Committee, the House Education Standing Committee, the House Revenue and Taxation Standing Committee (Vice-Chair), and the Commerce and Workforce Services Appropriations Sub-committee.   During the  2009-2010 legislative term, Rep. Frank was assigned by Speaker David Clark to Chair the House Government Operations Standing Committee (policy oversight of state government agencies and operations, elections, GRAMA, ethics).  His sub-appropriations assignment has been on the Capital Facilities and Government Operations, as well as a member of the House Education Standing Committee.  During both the 2009 & 2010 Interims, Rep. Frank has served as a House Co-Chair for the Government Operations and Political Subdivisions Committee, as well as, on the Transportation Interim Committee.

During the 2004 Interim, Rep. Frank served as a member of the Hazardous Waste Regulation and Tax Policy Task Force.  In 2005, he served as a member of the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) Task Force.  And, during the 2007 Interim, he served as the Co-Chairman of the Government Competition & Privatization Subcommittee at the appointment of Speaker Curtis.  In April of 2009, Speaker Clark assigned Rep. Frank to represent the Utah State House of Representatives as a member of the Governor’s Commission on Strengthening Utah’s Democracy.

The Utah Taxpayers Association (UTA) recognized Rep. Frank in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2010 as a “Friend of the Utah Taxpayer.”  In 2008, Rep. Frank received the prestigious “Taxpayer Advocate of the Year” award from the UTA for his work on and the successful passage of 2008 General Session Privatization Laws.  The Reason Foundation also recognized Rep. Rep. Frank was made an “honorary” Utah State Highway Patrol Trooper in 2008.  On June 10, 2009, he was honored to recieve the Utah Highway Patrol Association’s ”President’s Award” from association president, Mason Haycock.  In June of 2009 (shortly after he received the “President’s Award”), Rep. Frank was appointed as one of UHP’s 29 Honorary Colonels.

Rep. Frank is endorsed by both the National Federation of Independent Businesses and the National Rifle Association.

Rep. Frank is a founding member of the Patrick Henry Caucus.

Rep. Frank moved to Cedar Hills in January 2009 from Pleasant Grove, Utah with his wife, Kim, and their four children, where they have lived since 1994.  He is active in his church and has been a small business owner in Utah County since 1994.  Craig received his Bachelor’s degree in Management with a Minor in Accountancy and Economics from BYU in 1994.
