Take Back Utah Rally…Saturday Morning

2009 at 3:52 pm  |  posted by Rep. Craig Frank 6 comments

65% of Utah’s land is owned by the federal government.  Now, more than ever, Utah is at greater risk of losing access to precious public lands.  From the “Take Back Utah” website:

Access is essential to many things that affect our quality of life. It even has an impact on funding available for Utah’s public education system. From issues of energy independence to the quality of our children’s education, access to public land impacts us all.

Join us this Saturday morning for a Parade and Rally.  See details of this event at the “Take Back Utah” website.

Are you including the percentage that is uninhabitable desert and the percentage that is designated as a national park in that number?

Damn those national parks! If only we could make Utah look like the East Coast!

    Right?

This is a half baked “movement,” but surely will be entertaining to watch.

  2. Travis Grant Says:

I would love to be there, but I have family obligations that I would miss out on for the world. But I will be with Take Back Utah in spirit.

  3. rmwarnick Says:

Our public lands are a great asset to our state. Previous Sagebrush Rebellion attempts to steal them on behalf of private interests like the oil & gas industry have run into massive public opposition.

Take public lands away from the people? Go ahead and try!

  4. rs 2477 Says:

Now is a good time to do some research on RS 2477.

  5. JJL9 Says:

jasonthe- what is your argument about the “uninhabitable desert” exactly?

That somehow it makes sense that it is federal land, why?

  6. Sharetrails Says:

Have you thought about forming a shovel brigade?
