I am all for more education. Having graduated from BYU though I will say this: I had many friends that went to both UVSC and to BYU. They decided on UVSC because of the different environment. I'm not talking religion, I'm talking strictly on a classroom, student/teacher, interaction level. These friends felt they got more out of their UVSC education than their BYU education. Will UVU lose the learning benefits associated with a state college?

By the way, I'm in favor the move to a University. I'm just wondering if this has been looked into.

Rep. Frank,

How can Utahns be assured that the addition of UVU will not lead to more pronounced underfunding among the other institutions of higher learning in Utah?

Too bad it wasn't named for 'Lake Utah', then it would be the University of LUV.
